Summer is the very time of the year when preparing a kid to go outside requires a minimum of time and effort: just put on a T-shirt, shorts, and light comfortable shoes – and your child is ready to discover the world in all its diversity. Perhaps the most important thing in a baby’s summer wardrobe is shoes. After all, it is so important for every parent that his child not only stands confidently on his legs but can safely run, jump and realize all his childhood desires in motion.

What to keep in mind when choosing kids’ shoes

When buying shoes for your child, focus less on beauty than on safety. If this is the first shoe for a child who is just learning to walk, then you should choose the most comfortable, not too hard but not too soft shoes with a closed toe. This will protect the child from hitting the toes on various objects and avoid unnecessary injury. Pay attention to the sole: it should not be slippery. It is better to choose one where the manufacturer has taken care of applying a deep pattern to the sole in order to ensure maximum grip of the sole with asphalt, paving slabs, or just the ground. This is especially true when it rains and when almost all surfaces become slippery. Make sure that the new shoes are spacious enough on the one hand, and on the other hand, that the inner surface is in sufficient contact with your baby’s foot. It is also worth choosing closed shoes made from materials that anatomically adjust to the relief of the side surfaces of the baby’s legs. That is, shoes should not be too hard or too soft, but rather elastic, which will allow the baby to achieve greater freedom of movement. It is better to choose summer shoes for your baby from a material that will allow your child’s legs to breathe. Otherwise, the risk of blistering and odor increases as a result of bacterial growth. Good quality shoes can usually be washed in the washing machine. This is especially important in the summer, as bacteria multiply in a warm environment at an incredible rate.

What shoes does a child need for summer?

Sandals, crocs, and flip-flops – these types of shoes can be included in the children’s wardrobe when the baby stands confidently on its feet. Otherwise, your baby’s feet may slip or trip, not providing enough protection for your baby. As for children’s slippers, you should prefer models with a strap for a stronger fit. Sneakers are perhaps the most comfortable shoes for people of any age. When choosing summer sneakers for a child, breathable fabric sneakers are of course a much better summer option than those made of thick leather or nubuck. Slip-Ons are a good alternative to sneakers. These are the same fabric sneakers, but without lacing. It is enough to purchase two pairs of slip-ons for the summer to wash them periodically alternating with each other. Slip-Ons are a fairly budget option for shoes. And therefore, they can be worn all summer, and if they wear out by the end of the season, you don’t have to worry, because a minimum of money was spent on them.

FLIP-FLOPS

Flip flops – slippers, consisting of a rubber sole and a rubber strap, fixed on the leg between the toes. Flip-flops are traditional shoes in most East Asian countries. Initially, flip-flops were conceived as rubber shoes, necessary only for walking along the beach or the side of the pool. However, the popularity of using flip-flops has long gone beyond its narrow purpose. Flip-flops for kids are made with extra strap protection on the back and are the perfect addition to your child’s wardrobe. Lightweight and versatile, it’s one of the favorite shoes for kids because it’s quick and easy to put on and go out to play. Classic flip-flops are made of rubberized material and designed for walking short distances. If it is important for you that the child’s foot is in maximum contact with natural materials, you can look for leather flip-flops, which of course will cost more than rubber ones.

SANDALS

Sandals are the most open shoes in which the child’s foot breathes and constantly comes into contact with nature: air, and rays of the sun, which, directly falling on the foot, leave fancy tan patterns. These summer shoes come in all sizes from toddlers to teens. Well-made sandals are very easy to put on and take off, fasten and unfasten. They are made of durable yet elastic materials and are easy to run, climb and jump in. Often in children’s collections, manufacturers produce sandals with rubber soles. This sole is very flexible and allows small feet to walk and run safely.

SNEAKERS

And finally, the most beloved footwear of all generations. A person who has worn sneakers at least once will return to them again and again. When you buy closed shoes for yourself or your child, you should do it at the end of the day to be sure of the correct size. Because, after running for a day, the legs can swell and become larger. It is also worth buying such shoes not in advance, but at the very beginning of summer. Then there is at least some guarantee that your child will be able to wear such shoes all season. When buying closed shoes, be sure to check that there is about a toe length between your baby’s big toe and the inside edge of the shoe. And be sure to ask your kid more about how free and comfortable he or she feels in new shoes. It is worth measuring the baby’s legs every month because they are growing rapidly. This applies, of course, not only to summer closed shoes but in general to the entire shoe wardrobe of a kid.

So, the optimal set of shoes for the summer for a child consists of three pairs of shoes: open sandals for hot weather, closed sneakers and/or slip-on for cool evenings, rainy weather and for long trips, and flip-flops for relaxing on the coast.
